Excellent analogy, and good article. Slow, steady, and consistent ... no more trying to make the big play, just going out there and getting the job done one play at a time.

Thanks for all the feedback !

Excellent points have been made for staying focused and consistent, instead of trying to be the "power blogger" with every post, and hopefully we all hit a few home runs along the way.

Lol, great analogy :) It is very true though and certainly relevant. I think one more thing that bloggers really need to focus on is staying consistent. We need to keep chugging at our goals by continuing to post and promote our blogs so that we can achieve success. Put in a baseball comparison, we need to play hard like pro ballplayers do through the long 162 game season. -yea, its not as great as your analogy, but it still works :p

The baseball analogy is great. Consistency and patience seem to win out in both baseball and blogging. I'd rather be a steady .300 singles hitter than a power hitter who strikes out 150 times a year. Is there a supplement though that I can take to make me the Barry Bonds of the blogosphere? :P

I'm not very good at baseball, but even I understood this one. Guess that means that I gotta throw more stuff out there instead of always trying to hit a home run. Right?

Thanks David, I knew hardly anything about baseball before this post, now I understand it a little more!

I am having troublw growing and captivating more of an audience but with a mixture of advice coming from people like you and Garry, I know that I can find the right balance for me. It just takes hard work and patience.

Thanks Christine, Anyone who has ever worked with me knows how much I love analogies. I have found that analogies help bring things into focus, especially when you are trying to teach someone and you can tap into what they are knowledgeable about.

Hey David,

That is a cool analogy. Of all the things to associate blogging with, I never would have thought of baseball.

I like the way you put this together, and will be using it in my own blogs in the future.

Great Job.
