RSS for Search

It is interesting that Yahoo and MSN allow RSS subscriptions to a search. By subscribing to a search can save you a lot of time and help facilitate any research that you are doing.

Google only allows subscriptions to a Blog Search, but not a Web Search. A good substitute for this is a Google Alert which will keep you up to date on any topic across Websites, Blogs and News.

  1. Google Alerts are great and very quick too. The moment Google indexed content that has the terms you have alerts set for, you’ll get an email, if that is how you choose to have your Google Alert configured.

I often wondered why Google doesn’t syndicate their search results like other search engines; however, one of the reasons may be to prevent people from taking the feed and mashing it up.
